If you’re looking to become a pilot, there is no better place to start than a Recreational Pilot Certificate. The RPC is a fun and cost-effective way to enter the aviation world and can be taught at your pace whether you want to fly daily, weekly or monthly.

Our highly experienced instructors will guide you through each of the lessons as you build all the necessary skills to become a well-established aviator.

Your journey to become a pilot consist flight training, aviation theory, exams and a flight test. Along the way there are plenty of exciting milestones to mark your progress.

  • Trial Flight

    A hands on flight just to make sure you are good to go.

  • Effects of Controls

    Learn about the primary and secondary effect of the aircrafts controls.

  • Straight & Level

    Setup the aircraft to fly straight and level in a range of configurations.

  • Climbing & Decending

    Manage the Aircraft as you climb and decent to specific altitudes.

  • Turning

    Master the rate 1, 30 degree and 60 degree turn. 

  • Stalls

    Identify a stall and practice recovery techniques.

  • Circuits

    Round and round you go, honing your take off and landing technique along with circuit procedures and negotiating traffic.

  • Emergency Procedures

    It’s all about being prepared.

  • Pre Solo Exam

    A multiple choice theory exam to ensure you are ready to go Solo.

  • First Solo

    Your first major milestone!

    After a pre-solo circuit check, up you go in solo command of the aircraft.

  • Solo Circuits

    Time to refine those take-offs, landing and circuits even more… this time solo.

  • Cross Wind Circuits

    The wind isn’t always coming straight down the runway. Time to practice flying in a cross wind.

  • Departure & Arrival

    Cover departure and arrival procedures along with radio calls.

  • Forced Landings

    As mentioned before… it’s all about being prepared.

  • Area Solo

    Time for you to fly off on your own to the training area and back.

  • Theory Exams

    Time to get the 5 multiple choice exams out of the way so you can focus on flying. 

    Exams include the Basic Aeronautical Knowledge, Air Legislation, Human Factors & Radio. 

  • Practice Flight Test

    We want to make sure you are fully prepared for your flight test.

  • Consolidation

    An opportunity to refine any skills that need a little bit of work before the flight test.

  • Flight Test

    This is it. Time to put all that hard work to the test to earn your Recreational Pilot Certificate.

  • Recreational Pilot Certificate

    After a successful flight test you will now be the holder of a RPC and can proudly call yourself a certified pilot.

    Time to works on expanding your skillset with a cross-country endorsement.

HOW MUCH?

Although the legal minimum hours of flying is 20hrs to achieve your Recreational Pilot Certificate, a more realistic expectation is completion in 25 – 30 hrs. It’s all comes down to how quickly you pick it up.
